Barbara Siddons Memorial Trophy
Barbara Siddons Memorial Trophy
This trophy is dedicated to the memory of Barbara Siddons (nee Hogarth, 1938-2010). Barbara grew up at Yew Tree Farm (the White House next to the doctor’s surgery ) and remained an Auckley resident for her entire life. Together with her husband, Ken, who was a founding member of the revived Auckley Show committee back when the event was held on the field where the Spar is now, Barbara worked tirelessly to make our village a thriving community.
From her legendary bingo nights and community trips to her quiet support of local traditions, Barbara was at the heart of Auckley’s social fabric. It is only fitting that her name is now permanently linked to the Show that her family helped build from the ground up.
The Barbara Siddons Memorial Trophy is awarded annually for a winning floral display, honouring the same spirit of community and dedication that Barbara and Ken showed us for so many years.
